Framed Mirrors

Made from powder coated steel frames with colored mirror glass, the Framed Mirrors is a gently artistic interpretation of the classic mirror. Though still functioning as reflecting glass, the colors, shapes and its ability to be arranged in groups gives the mirror a distinct character. The design comes in two sizes and three colors.

“A good product builds and expands on tradition while simultaneously breaking the rules of said tradition. Modifications and elements of surprise, even changes that are less radical, stimulate thought and reflection, also who may not hold a particular interest in design. This tiny second of reflection is the window of opportunity where we can communicate with the users and that’s what we strive to tap into.”

Having graduated (from Bergen Academy of Art and Design and Oslo National Academy of Art) in 2000, Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll co-founded Norway Says, a design group that brought an increased international awareness to Norwegian designers, while helping to bring Norway’s emerging design scene to the forefront of the world stage. Norway Says was awarded the Söderberg Prize in 2007, and its work culminated in 2009’s 10-year retrospective at the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo.
Anderssen & Voll was set up in 2009 and has since collaborated with some of Scandinavia’s most celebrated brands, including Muuto, Kvadrat, Erik Jørgensen, Wrong for Hay, Menu, as well as prominent Italian companies such as Magis, Foscarini and LaPalma.
