Ferm Living SS20 just arrived! Last week, Ferm Living launched its new Spring Summer collection full of warm colors that make us wish it’s summer already, so we can take a swim in the pool and soak up some sun.
The concept behind their new collection is home – as a sanctuary, and a place where our everyday routine meets big moments, in spaces where life happens.
As a brand ferm LIVING is working on to create products that help us build our home as a signature of our own and our family’s personalities. As the world becomes busier and louder, we find ourselves looking inwards – for calm, focus and to our true sense of home.
“In this SS20 collection, earthy tones and organic shapes meet sculptural lines; solid, robust forms are merged with soft, natural fittings while we continue to focus on honest materials that are no more, and no less, than what they appear to be.”
The concept of “low living” is a trend in design nowadays, and ferm LIVING embraced the concept with its SS20 collection, inviting us to lean back, rest and bring us closer to the ground so we connect with our surroundings on a new and deeper level.
Here are some of our favorites from this season:
A Modernist chair with a graceful profile, Desert Chair is crafted from a tubular powder-coated steel frame in colors Black or Cashmere, holding an interchangeable woven textile seat made from recycled plastic bottles, available in four designs: Soil, Stripes, Shapes or Solid Cashmere. Suitable for use both indoors and out, the lounge design invites relaxation. Just sit back and enjoy it.
Flow is a series of perfectly imperfect tableware made to modern sensibilities using traditional craftsmanship techniques. All the items are detailed with a semi-matte glaze for a unique expression. This versatile bowl is perfect for serving up cereals or salads or used as a decorative bowl or catch-all for everyday clutter.
Mineral Coffee Table
A harmonious marriage of natural materials and contrasting finishes, our Mineral Coffee Table showcases the intrinsic beauty of stone and glass. The smooth, rectangular glass top is placed on a base of two stone blocks – each with one end of which is left unfinished for a raw, textural look.
Made entirely from solid oak with a black oiled finish, the broad, sculpted legs of our round Bevel Table add a modern edge to the otherwise classic design. Both tabletop and legs are minimally detailed with gently rounded edges for a soft expression. Lasting materials and a timeless silhouette make the Bevel Table an indispensable addition to any modern home.
The flat, broad legs of our Bevel bench update the traditional seat design, made from solid oak and offered in a beautiful natural oiled finish. The versatile bench has gently rounded edges that perfectly complement the series’ dining table. It can also be put to use as extra seating in a hallway, living room or bedroom
The embracing, beanbag-inspired shape of our low-slung Catena sofa is generously dimensioned for all-out relaxation and coziness: we call it low living. Distinguished by soft curves and top-stitched seams, the homely, module-based designs are made with innovative microcellular foam that ensures maximum comfort as well as durability. The series comprises six individual modules that can be combined in multiple ways to create the desired expression. Made to order in Italy, it comes upholstered in a range of fabrics and colors.
A new and modern take on Mid-century shelving units, Sector is defined by its sturdy simplicity and classic combination of wood and brass – available with natural oak veneer or black stained ash veneer shelves, and polished brass or blackened brass brackets. Available in two sizes, the shelf attaches to a wall with the accompanying solid wood uprights with visible screws. Use it to display favorite objects in a living room or storage jars in a kitchen.
A bold light with a sculptural arc reminiscent of ancient columns, our Vuelta lamp is made from opal glass with a rippled surface that lends textural appeal to the piece. Designed with an LED light source that emits a soft, diffused light, it also features an adjustable dimmer switch for ultimate ambiance control. Use it as a decorative lamp in a dark corner or on a shelf to light up a collection of books.
Inspired by traditional Japanese furniture and ’low living’, our Kona Bed is ideal for use as a daybed or single bed for overnight guests. With a name derived from the Japanese word for corner, the bed is made from sturdy oak veneer and features a low headboard and raised back panel perfect for resting up against. Made to complement the Kona Bed, the Kona Side Table in oak veneer peeks out from under the bed frame to provide a practical platform for a book, lamp, and glass of water.
Helena Rohner Series – Hooks & Sculptural Object
Jewelry designer Helena Rohner brings her signature aesthetic to ferm LIVING with a series of decorative objects for the home. Originally formed by hand, it brings a human touch to interiors. Use it in the kitchen, hallway, bathroom or bedroom to hang towels or clothes. Engraved with the initials of both Helena Rohner and Ferm Living, the hook comes packaged in a textile pouch.
